Mt Barney 2 day Adventure

Spend a weekend with Barney!

Join us for this action packed, unforgetable weekend away aswe climb Mt barney via the challenging South East Ridge.

This route is more technical than the "normal" route and offers steep terrain, fun rock scrambling, breathtaking drop offs and dizzying heights!

After summiting, we'll make our way down to the "Rum Jungle" for the night - a pristine campsite in the rainforest.

Next day, practice some abseilingbeforeour descent down the South Ridge.

Mt Barney is located 120km south-west of Brisbane via the Mt Lindesay Highway. Along with Mt Maroon, Mt May, Mt Lindesay, Mt Ernest, Mt Ballow and Mt Clunie it makes up Mount Barney National Park. These rugged peaks are the remains of the ancient Focal Peak Shield Volcano which erupted 24 million years ago.

The unmarked trails to the summit of Mt Barney are very steep and require bushwalking experience, navigational skills and excellent preparation. Our guides will get you there safely, working at your pace providing plenty of encouragement!

Your guides will allow plenty of time to complete your walk in daylight. However due to to slow progress or changes in weather, a decision may be made by your guide to abandon the summit attempt for safety reasons.
